Here are a few quick pics of my OM-28 project. This guitar is based on the first run of OM-28's built sometime in late 1929. This batch had the small teardrop pickguard, pyramid bridge, and banjo tuners. I just strung up Saturday and so far, so good. I've been wanting to do this for a number of years and finally made the commitment to do the research and tackle the subleties involved in the ebony-reinforced, bar fret neck.

Not 100% true to the period (pickguard on top of a USL finish as opposed to pickguard under a nitro finish, and Lutz over EIR vs. Adi over BRW), but otherwise pretty much true to the period. All hide glue, tucked braces, no popsicle brace, etc. and I must say that it's been a very satisfying build. I've only got about 30 minutes playing time on it, so I won't make any judgement on the tone yet, but I do like what I hear.

Very nice looking guitar. Interesting look, with the banjo tuners. [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Very nice, Jimmy. What brand tuners?

Even though I mostly use BRW for bridges, I like those pyramid bridges in ebony.

Thanks for posting Jimmy.
Always a treat seeing your work, and this one looks great.
How about a shot of the back?

Steve
