Just wanted to share the progress on #2. It's loosely patterned after a '69 Tele Thinline, but the body shape's a little different. Redwood top and back with poplar middle of the body neck is a one pieces fender style neck, curly maple and walnut lam. Finish will be a sunburst-ish look, with analine dyes, then a coat of shellac, then probably tru-oil thanks for looking. |

That's a very good looking Tele Rob! I like the neck a lot. I can't wait to see your sunburst on this one. Very nice ! |

Wow, that's really great bud! I've been thinking on perhaps building a tele at some point, but have never built a solidbody to date. Keep up the good work. PS: I especially like the laminated neck. |

Put one of these in the weekend accomplishment thread, but I'll stick one here, too. I used amber with a hint of brown aniline dyes to bring out the flame. This is an LMI 2nd grade redwood top plate, so not to much flame, but I like it. Then I did the burst with brown dye mixed really dark. It's got a couple coats of tru-oil on it in this pic. |
