Does anyone remember seeing a picture of a home made saddle matic jig? I'm dang sure I saw it on OLF but my searches have not turned it up. |

Rich tale a look at this http://www.luthiersuppliers.com/products/p9.html I bought this when Tracy first came out with it and like it so much more than a saddlematic type because it indexes of the nut not the 12th plus it centers of the taper of the neck not a hand marked center line. The saddelmatic type have a tendency to flex a bit and can be accidently knocked out of square or bend if dropped. This is solid as a rock. because my bridge is rounded in the front, not flat I placed two 3/16” diameter pins that act as each end of my saddle in the bridge locating attachment. Now my bridge attachment holds my bridge perfectly square to the centerline. I have marked the proper front of saddle location for the three scales I build to most often on the main beam for reference. I can’t miss place my bridge/saddle position at all with this. I own both and in my opinion this is a much frindlier less fool proof jig. Great design |
