One more, and this time to showcase some of our very own wood pushers. The Claro walnut back/sides came from Larry Davis of Gallery Hardwoods. The Western Red Cedar top is from Shane Neifer of High Mountain Tonewoods. Other stats: The bindings, center strip and center lam (neck) are some really orange-red Cocobolo. Brazilian bridge w/ rosewood pins. Rosette is burled walnut bordered w/ paua. Peghead over/underlay are also burled walnut. Hope you enjoy: Attachment: IMG_7752_WEB.jpg Attachment: IMG_7729_WEB.jpg Attachment: IMG_7725_WEB.jpg Attachment: IMG_7727_WEB.jpg Attachment: IMG_7722_WEB.jpg Attachment: IMG_7741_WEB.jpg Thanks for viewing, Steve |

Now that is what I call a guitar! Superb stuff again from the Kinnaird output. That back strip is becoming something of a signature, it could only have come from you, you want to get a patent on that before I copy it! I'll let you get away with the abalone this time, but that's two in a row now, so British aesthetics on the next one OK? Your a great builder Steve. Colin |

Gentlemen, my sincere thanks! Your kind remarks are most appreciated. Shane, the "SKT" is my standard monogram--just my initials. Like CFM stands for "Christian Fredrick Martin", with mine you've got "Stephen Taylor Kinnaird". This was done in gold pearl for a warmer look nestled in the walnut. Kirt-- "Warm, like a cup of hot chocolate in front of the fireplace". Wow, what a great picture that conjures. May I quote you on that one? Colin, I know I'm pushing it, and I always tremble to post such garish things. How'sa bout the next two being somewhat British in their feel? They are; no shell (well, except for logos), only wood doing the talking. And Heath, Jim, Mike, Lance, Tony, Matt, JJ & Waddy, thanks fellas! Nice guys, all! Oh, and Tony, this one does play pretty well. It was built for light gauge strings, and the feel is somewhat easy under the fingers. Steve |

Dave, Bruce, Ken, Chuck, many thanks. When you get nice wood in your hands, it's such a joy to work. Erik & Mike, how would I describe the sound? Not as lush as the Coco / Engelmann. More focused, fewer overtones--or at least they weren't as obvious. However, this guitar is loud; really louder than the Coco/Engelmann. It seems like an instrument that would take a certain finesse in technique so that it wouldn't "get away from you". I hope that makes sense.... Thanks again, Steve |
