I have a some nice planks of Montery Cypress. Anyone use it for classical or flamenco guitars or any guitars for that matter.
Howard, you are a west coast guy. Know anything about it. For guitars that is.

The guitar in my avatar is 100 % Monterey Cypress. Standard 000 guitar. I used 2 carbon fiber rods and double action truss rod for the neck. It's beautiful wood to work with. Bends very easily, doesn't require much if anything in the way of pore filling. Takes on a beautiful golden honey tone under finish.

More pictures of this guitar on my website if your interested.

I've made many "Flamencos" with it!
I love it!

I agree with Allen !
I also have a pic of it on my Flamenco page !
Great wood!
What are you planning to make ?
A steel?
or Nylon?

Down the road I plan on making a nylon. I was just looking at these planks I have and thinking. If it is a good wood for steel string then I could do that also. They have been drying for 10 years so I may saw up a few sets and put them aside.

This wood will work for a steel also-just leave the back thicker-like .120.
depending on the stiffness & weight of the wood you have!
You'll have to make that decision because the woods in your hands!
Send pics [:Y:] if ya want to sell any sets!!!
