I am having a hard time finding solid holly for bindings, inlay, etc. Veneer seems to be available & I am wondering if anyone has made 2 or 3 ply laminated, holly with a truly "white" adhesive, in otherwords invisible? A source of high quality solid holly is still my first choice. Mike McNerney |

Knox gelatine from the grocery store is a transparent adhesive. A quick check on eBay turned up this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Holly-pure-white-American-lumber-wood-square-blank-S2S_W0QQitemZ310014769255QQihZ021QQcategoryZ58148QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 |

You might want to try Lmii white glue! Dries clear unless you puddle it! make sure you wood to wood joint is perfect ! Mike |

that gelatine thing is curious, is it strong enough to then heat and bend the laminated binding? think I'll try the lmi glue tooo. But I got lucky today found a real nice piece of solid holly at 19 bf and some 1/16 veneer at 7, so 'm easy now thanks MM |
