Well about a week ago i had a career change, after 8yrs of working as a carpenter i am now a co-owner in my dad's mechanical shop. So today i had a call out to an outfit that makes garage doors, so during my dinner break i looked around in the wood processing area of the place. turns out they import a lot of Red Cedar from canada, of course most of the lumber is flatsawn, but i found a couple of nice boards that were perfectly quartered with a grain count of about 30/inch

Asked the owner how much he wanted for some of those quartered boards, he looked at the pile of boards found the nicest boards he could and said, just take them... bliss pizza
dimensions: 38x12x3/4" got 4 quartered and 2 flatsawn boards.

So,just to be clear, you guys are happiest after just getting the wood? And here I've been focused on the wood processing side of things. My bad...

well i am looking forward to taking it to the bandsaw tomorrow :)

Taking one's wood to the bandsaw can be a scary undertaking ;)

Nice score Frank! Don't cut it to thin now, you'll want to keep Cedar thicker (after all's said and done) then spruce.

The first few times it's "cool.." But after you find a couple diamonds in the rough it becomes an addiction..

You've been warned.. :D You might want to put a couple measuring tapes, some crayons and plexi templates in your trunk.. Just in case :D

...and, depending un the size of the bandsaw, quite impressive.
