Well having been saddled with TAS, I went ahead and bought the drum sander. RBIndustries 426. This thing is a beast. 26" wide, 6" diam steel drum. 600 lbs. 3hp Baldor drum motor (can't you just hear Tim the Toolman "ARRR ARR ARR").

Sweetening the deal was that he had a pile of black walnut that he wanted to sell too. I ended up with about 68 bd feet of 4/4 and 8/4 (full 2" too) for $100. bliss TAS complicated by WAS. I'm sick [xx(]

So now I have to find a place to park "The Beast" and stack my walnut. Oh and sell my Jet 10-20.

I know how you feel, I picked up a used Delta 18X36 drum sander a couple weeks back, and actually just used it for the 1st time today. I don't know what will be the next tool, but they seem to get more expensive as the list gets shorter.

I am finishing my side bender and will bend the 1st set of sides I have sanded with it by the end of the week.

Nice sander, nice wood! If I had the opportunity presented like that I would have bought it too! Looks like I'll still have to build a sander, none available used near me, and new is too much money for what it will be earning me.

Fred, you look just like David Suzuki! Where are you?

JJH- Nothing was wrong with the 10-20, the RBI sander was just a fantastic deal and offered increased sanding width.
