I want to make my bindings & add a w/b strip on the edge and then bend on the pipe. Can this be done & what kind of glue is recomended that will hold up to the bending procedure.

Titebond usually works fine. Tape two pieces of binding together, purfling to purfling, before bending and that will help hold the purflings in place while bending. Just don't soak the strips or overheat them and the glue will hold.

Heres how I glue up BWB to my rosewood bindings. The clamps are lining clamps from Blues Creek Guitars.

I like to use cyano to glue purflings to bindings prior to bending. Cyano holds up really well to moisture and heat. I have used Titebond but it tends to loosen a bit under heat and sometimes leaves a white line.

I made a jig lined with Teflon strips to hold the purfing in place against the bindings. Once I have it where I want it, I run a bead of thin cyano along the joint. The Teflon prevents the binding from being glued to the jig.

when i make laminate bindings i make a binding billet that its 7-7 1/2 mm thick and 1"+ wide x 32"+ long.
i then laminate normal 0.6mm veneer to the bottom of this in whatever layers i want (black/white/black etc) with titebond three.
i find this does not delaminate during bending like normal titebond as its water resistant.
i then cut the resulting laminate into 2.5mm strips on my small bandsaw.
i then run then through the drum sander to take off the saw marks from each side until they are 2mm thick.
i will often hold them all together at this stage and run the top through the drum sander to take the finished bindings to about 6.5-7mm .

i have never found a satisfactory way of gluing purflings to binding strips but titebond 3 and clothes pegs is the best i have found so far then i like to tidy up lightly with drum sander before bending and gluing.

This is almost the exact method I use. It's quick and easy and I have yet to have a problem with delamination during bending.
