I am doing some repair to vacuum clamp. I bought closed cell foam from an auto store and used for that and RV use. I know the weather stripping form the home repair stores not as good as marine grade stuff (which is most noted best to use) Is the RV/Auto stuff on par with the marine grade? I can't find that grade in the local boat supply places or shops, so have to go online to get it, but don't want to do that if about same grade as the auto stuff.

Stan -
Closed cell foam from Home Depot or Lowes will work just fine. I have been using it for 15 years and change it out every other year. It is very cheap and disposable!

You can also get stuff from Allstar Adhesives. They have some great stuff made for vacuum fixturing.
