got a call today.
turns out one of my guitars made it to NYC before i did.
so this is the first ever guitar i built myself.
it was a flamenco guitar that i build for a very good friend of mine.
however that friend wanted a higher than normal action.

eventually he went and studied marine biology and he used to take that guitar along with him on cruises etc.
turns out along the years he sold it to somebody who sold it to somebody who sold it to a third party who gave it to his brother in NYC.

i havent yet seen pics of the guitar's condition but is it is my understanding that it had a very bad fret job and perhaps, based on the current owner's description, somebody messed with the fingerboard too in order to achieve lower action.

anyways, i guess that the combination of life by the Mediterranean sea,a trip half a world long, and the messing around with the fingerboard left the neck with a serious bow to it and a 4mm thick fingerbaord.

so i told the current owner that the best i can do(unless he wants to ship the guitar back to israel for me to repair it)is help him find a worth trusty repairman in the NYC area.
i know our own Evan Gluck is based in NYC and have e-mailed him but if you know of anybody else who might help now is the time to speak ;)

thanks,
Udi.

Udi, I don't know anyone else to suggest...

I will say this though (and I'm sure you've already thought about it so it may be redundant) is if the current owner decides to send it back to you, make sure you charge him accordingly and not fix it out of the kindness of your heart. It's changed ownership many times and with the life it's lived this is most certainly not a warranty issue.

Bob Jones located in Park slope Brooklyn. PM me for the phone number. I have to look for it.
He does excellent work, and his prices are very reasonable.

Udi,
Two words, and you already said them, EVAN GLUCK. Phone is probably the best way to get him, but if you PM him he'll get back to you.
