I need a source for guitar boxes. I ordered a bunch from Uline a few years back and cant use them. They are 20 x 8 x 50, I need 20 X 10 X 48. Ameritage size boxes ![]() I asked Uline if they could make them and was told they don't do custom sizes anymore. Thanks in advance for any help! Lance |

Lance, can't you cut two up and telescope them? Unless a neat appearance is important. |

And yes, they are too big for the USPS, but I've not been able find anything nearly as good. When I'm shipping larger guitars, I just bite the bullet and use FedEx. |

Thanks Guys, Yeah like Brock said I am looking for a box that max's out at 108" or under. I dont want to pay over size fees. Appearance does matter so taping two together is not gonna work either.. Good idea though! |

HEY! This just dawned on me! Why couldn't I/we cut cut down the corners on the boxes that Jimmie has suggested using to 48" That would make them the same as the Ameritage box. We do this at work all the time, just slice down 2" on each corner! Thanks! |

What about using the box the Ameritage case came in assuming it is in good shape. TJK |

I got a freebie Taylor guitars box locally. They have a little custome molded cradle in the bottom of the box that I love. I thinks there's one for the top too, just didn't know at the time. I will keep and re-use this box as I send guitars back and forth as needed. I initially used a double sized box from Breedlove, but got SLAMMED with $$$$ because it was over the girth allowance. ![]() |

I have bought custom boxes from here: http://www.packnboxnow.com/Default.aspx ... omBoxesNow They have a very good web-site calculator for designing your boxes. I got the extra-strong type in 22x49x10. Pricy to ship but a lot more peace of mind. The extra-strong is heavier duty than the Eco Box. Brook |

A place close to me carries the same box in 275# corrugated, and they give me scraps to double the side walls. http://www.allaboutshipping.com/products.html I have never had a problem with FedEx Ground or Next Day Air, or UPS, and the one time I looked into USPS at the request of a customer, their rates were more than double. |
