No it's mahogany, the story goes I bought The Kinkhead bookon guitar making and was reading at my local folk club, I get there early to help out, a friend there who used to make snooker tables for a living and makes exceedingly rough experimental guitars cam over and we were chatting, the next week he turns up with some 3mm mahogany for the back and sides ok I'll have to make the back look book matched but hey beggars can't be choosers.

He has started me off wonderfully then I bought a cheap top from touchstone tonewoods and a luthier friends been kind given me proper bracing wood I was gonna use pine molding strips from B&Q and a rosewood fingerboard he said was not good enough for one of his builds but still good enough for me!

With the advice from friends here and at home I'll end with a rustic looking but nice sounding guitar

Thanks Guys

John

John, Great looking work there.

When I saw the sides, I thought, "Well Bent sides", so you seem to do well with heat.

Then I check your profile and see you are apprentice blacksmith, they use lots of heat don't they.

Guitar is looking good, thanks for the pics.
