Can anyone point me to a source for a case that will fit a deep bodied OM? I know I could custom order one but I need one quickly.

Thanks!!

No luck Don,
Closest thing I could find is a deep bodied 000 from Martin, but I suspect your OM is wider at the bouts.

Maybe try Tim McKnight, I think he has a deep bodied OM and he also has used some non custom cases if I recall.

I have one but I need it. I got it from a local case maker here in Canada (no website at all) by the name of Chris Datt,

Datt Cases Ltd
5761 126 Street, Surrey, BC V3X 3G8
Telephone : 604-598-3134

He makes cases for National guitar and Tacoma guitars to say the least. Give him a call, he may have something for you. Mine were custom ordered by someone else and the guy never came back for them. He sold them to me for a good deal.

Other than that, look into cases which will hold on Olson SJ, the tail on the Olson SJ is 4 5/8" and the bouts and length are very near the same as an OM. I believe most Olson's come in a calton case mind you and you may not be looking for that level of case. EDIT: I was just reading on Jim's website and it says that his guitars come in a cedar creek case, you might want to try them than. Heck you might even phone Jim Olson and see if he'd sell you one if you need it in a hurry.

Thanks for looking. My bouts are 15.5" lower and 11" upper. As I recall, the 000 and OM have the same dimensions. I just used Martin specs on this one(except for the body depth). So your case may be perfect.

Don, looks like you've got yourself more of a grand concert size in the lower bout. Martin specs on OM/OOO is a 15" lower bout.

What about the OLF SJ body shape is it similar to yours? You might get more luck with that from Ameritage.

I think Cedar Creek may come through. They have one that will accomodate 15.5" Lower bout with enough room for 5.5" depth. The upper bout for this case is 12". I tried to get one through Ameritage and ordered it 8 weeks ago. But it still hasn't gone into production yet. I think they are really busy over there.

Here's a link to a pic of my JOM in a case I got from Martin a few years ago. http://sharpguitars.com/websiteimages/Page2/OM.jpg

Thanks for the specs Lance. I always thought it was 15.5" but I stand corrected.

A stock TKL 9105 (their top of the line OM case) will take a 15.5 wide, and up to 6 inch deep guitar accoedong to the spec sheet I have . even the 8905 (flat back) version will take 5.5 - but that also includes the bridge/saddle height as well.

I have used the 9105s in the past for my OMs, which are usually 15 .375 lower bout, and 4 5/8 deep - no probs. The Ameritage stock OM case will handle this as well.
