JJ,

You are awesome dude! I'd love to take you up on your VERY generous offer! Please pick out something really extraordinary, but make sure you can afford it.

Thanks again! Man this is just too cool! :D

Why is it that you have to live in Michigan to have all the fun on the OLF? Where are all you east coast guys? CT, Vermont, MA, NH, RI? C'mon guys and gals! Lets represent!

We need pictures, video clips, sound clips!

Hey, can someone snap a photo of Bob with his sons: Bob Jr. and Peter, and Bob's grandson, Bob Cefalu III.

Have fun!

Dennis

Joe,
Thanks for the link - I didn't know this group existed! I will definitely be coming to the March meeting. I'm teaching a cabinetmaking class at the school Sunday so I can't make that meeting...but I would really like to meet you, Don, and some of the others I've interacted with here on the OLF....

Got back last night and what a great time. Bob and Rose are gracious hosts and this was my first chance to dig through piles and piles of wood and materials and hand select materials for a build. Bob has such a broad selection from the traditional to the very, very unusual. Every set you pick up you find yourself dreaming of what it would look like under finish - how you would position the pattern, what sound you might bet out of it.

Picked up some awesome Colobolo, a German Spruce soundboard and bunch of odds and ends like reverse kerf lining, purflings and more. I had to call on every ounce of discipline in my body not to buy more. Reminded me of a joke I heard one time - Luthier buys a lottery ticket and agent asks what he would do with the million dollar prize - he answers "guess I would have to buy wood until it all runs out"

Then Hesh and Joe showed up and Hesh brings out his L model and I am sold. That will be the model for this Coco. Also got to play a good bit with a Heshtone 000. Both guitars were absoutly awesome in look, feel and sound. Very lightly built and flawless workmanship. Hesh always sets the bar for me. And Joe's finishing work is awesome - will have him finishing this Coco L for me when done.

And JJ - he is into building electrics these days. Brought two builds - one is a Les Paul type model and the other a Strat type. Now I use the word Type because both have unique features that put them in a league of their own. We will have to get JJ to post pics !!

Anyways, meeting was lots of fun - and I had to leave earlier than the rest so missed out on some of the fun at the end. Thanks guys for a great time !!

WIll post some pics in next couple of days

Can't begin to explain how much fun it was to hang out with everyone at Bobs for the day. Bob and Rosie are just the best hosts you could imagine. I even got to eat actual Buffalo Wings, from Buffalo! I still have images of JJ with all that barbeque sauce all over his hands and face! Wish I would have snapped a photo of that. (I ate mine secretely. still have sauce on my face! )
Rich was a blast to listen to and his grandson is one fine picker himself! It was funny how Anthony would occasionally dissappear from the group only to be found noodling around with his new SJ! He is an incredible player and I could listen to him play fingerstyle on that SJ all night, great pickin' indeed! Bob's shop is just a zoot lovers fantacy!! I don't know how many times I stumbled across set after set of incredibly unique wood. Although the drive began (early) and ended (late) with some pretty bad roads I am already looking forward to my next trip to Bob's. Thanks for having us Bob and Rosie! Y'all are good people! [clap] [clap] [clap]

Joe and Rich it was our pleasure to have you all here. It was a fun day indeed.
Rich is quite the entertainer. Good player and picker too. Rich brought his nephew and
grandson along with him. Two very fine young men that enjoy hanging out with Pa.

I know most of you haven't seen Joe's finish work in person but I can tell you that it is
simply fantastic. Great work Joe. I wish you continued success.
