I just tried to send a PM by clicking on the button under a post someone made and it opened a window titled 'Quote a post'. Is this normal? Is it for sending a PM to the person quoting the post they made? I didn't want to do that so I went by way of the 'Profile' button.

From what I can tell PM from a topic post is intended to send pms related to the post and if you want to send an unrelated pm you should go to your PM page and use compose an new message then you get a plank message form with a blank title and no quote. It is just a convenience routine to help in relation to a topic.

Yep I agree with my pal Michael - If you don't want to reference the topic just highlight and delete the quoted posted in the PM.

What Hesh said. Delete the title and the quote, and you are sending a generic pm.

That's OK, Michael, I'm switching to the Payne measuring system. Image

You got any of those "P" rulers and calipers? Is the smallest measurement in Paynes called a Pico Payne. Then it could be measured in "pp"! :o :D

I just realized that you cannot see the message of the person who PM'd you when you are typing a response. That makes it hard to respond in kind to questions, unless you open in a different window or something.. Is there any way to make the last message visible in the response area?
