The winter 2007 issue has arrived and first, I want to thank Bill Moll for his time and dedication that he has put into ASIA. It is muchly appreciated!   The cover story is a stunning photo layout that answers one of the little questions that I've had rolling around in my mind, one that is left over from my rifle stock days years ago and that is why isn't anyone engraving/checkering heals and headstocks?  Well, someone is and it is stunning.

Thanks Jim I received my issue today too.

My first impression was that this is a rather anorexic issue but once I read some of the articles I will take that back.

In addition to Jim's comments there is a fascinating article by Ervin Somogyi where Ervin morns the loss of the mastering of the use of and appreciation for hand tools.  He also gets into some other topics which provides a rather intimate view into his thought processes.

HGF is covered in a pictorial and there are some pics of Rick and John O and other OLFers.

And the Williams jig is reviewed by a new builder and it of course receives a very favorable review.

Along with Jim I want to thank Bill Moll too for his vision, leadership, dedication, and very much appreciated efforts on our behalf.  I fear that ASIA is an organization that far to many of us take for granted.  Unfortunately sometimes the only way to understand the true value of someone or something is imagining what it would be like if what ever we are considering was no longer here.......

We should all support ASIA and a very fine way to do that is with articles for GuitarMaker.

Good issue!
