I'm just thinkin that if any of those pipes let go in the tablesaw room, you may be buildin' in the bathroom again. eek

Looks fantastic tho' Hesh. I'm lookin to buy a place and the main selling point for me will be if it has a shop. And a gourmet kitchen.

Thanks guys! :)

John Monica is my only dust collection and it works great even for heavy duty tasks such as thickness sanding. I do want to add a Dust Deputy like my pal Mitch did to help eliminate the need for bag changes.

Rich!!!! Where you been bro??? It's great to see you posting again my friend and I hope that all is well with ya!

Thanks Chuck and Rob!!!!

Darrin my friend if a couple of these pipes in particular let go you may see more painted guitars coming out of my shop........ :D

That's inspirational. Nice job.

Hey, Mom. Can I go over to Hesh's house to play?

Hesh,

Great Shop- you really did a nice job on all the construction, especially considering
you were a novice at the start. I envy you all the space. In California, almost nobody
has full basements, so my shop is a lot smaller (and dirtier laughing6-hehe I'm going to
have to spend this afternoon cleaning it up in shame).

I could make you feel much better by posting a picture of my shop, but then Hesh would have to go back on his meds for a month, so, I'll refrain. :D

Hi Hesh,
If you have a spare trash can around and a couple of PV fittings, you can make this. Probably help until you get the dust deputy. ClearView cyclones also has something like the dust deputy. No idea which is better.

Super shop Hesh, well thought out, carefully constructed, you'll enjoy making many guitars there.

When do you install the dust and clutter that most of us included in our shops, or are you going to keep it this clean.

Man Hesh, I am sooo envious! I wish I had a shop like that. In fact I'd be happy just to not have to chip ice off the band saw. When I grow up I want a shop inside, with real insulated walls, and lights, and not have to fight with hockey nets and lawn mowers and bikes - and those shovels too! Some day. It's important to have dreams and goals isn't it?

Sweet digs Hesh. Congrats!

Rick

Thank You very many guys! :D

This thread reemerged this morning after my pal Rich posted to it - thanks Rick!

My shop has been done for almost 2 months now and I have not used it for guitar building at all yet but plan to get back into it very shortly. I'll admit that I have been living down here in the office area though - I just feel very comfortable here which is a good sign of good karma.

Thanks for the positive comments all!

I'd suggest putting some paper backed insulation in the rafters and then putting plastic over that. It will really cut down on the work load on your humidifier. At least it did in my old basement shop.

But in general it looks great, but way too clean.

And it will cut the noise to the rooms above. My dad told me to do this between the upstairs and downstairs and around any plumbing on the first house I built. I didn't listen and in this one instance, he was dead right. laughing6-hehe Thanks Dad.

Beautiful shop Hesh!!! Real open layout. I would show you the shop I had built last year, but it's a f#$%^%ing mess now...

Noticed your bench drill press and bench band saw....you like 'em?? I'm looking for a good bench drill press...and wondering if I can get by with bench band saw or just go for the 14"...(no re-sawing at the moment)...archives probably have a lot on this....but

note; I had a cheapo drill press and band saw....gave 'em both away....too much slop and slipping gaah .... thanks and congrats!!

I really love how organized and clean your shop is. Maybe a coffee pot next to the computer? Congratulations. I have a central bench that is four by six feet and it is the best thing I have ever done for a workspace.
