+ for the Porter Cable 330 Speed Block you won't be disappointed. But you'll have dust issues to resolve.

As for the process -- not sure where I picked up the discipline/strategy, but I plan "two" sessions for each grit. In other words, 220g take a break come back and do 220g again than the next grit -- and so on. Hand sanding Styrofoam blocks -- power 330 Speed Block. The quantum improvement I made was moving to a satin finish -- I am enamored with Lowden's, I suppose satin is an acquired taste.

I have the Festool ETS 125 as well, and the MIDI vac. I have to tell you, the resulting surface is pretty stinking good.

I run the vac at 1/3rd power when sanding.

I'm lucky enough to have a community of fellow guitar makers who make my learning process appreciably easier. Not least of which is a certain David Wren :-)

Hope you're well and hope to get something in front of you soon. But I think the 2 newest builds will be heading off to their new homes before I can get a chance for you to look at them.

Sometimes timing sucks :-)
