I've got steel bushings where the bolts go through. I've got a buddy with a machine shop that made the bushings. Binding isn't a problem. I tighten the bolts and it holds the FB in position. I make a pass with the router, then loosen the bolts and swing the FB a little, and again until it's done. It takes 10 minutes or so for a board, and a couple minutes sanding.
FWIW, when I was making the jig, I didn't have any wood screws to put it together with. I also didn't (and don't usually) have any bottled glue. My jig is held together with hot hide glue. :D

I've been following the post and can't wait to see what kind of a jig you come up with. I like the Edward Dick single radius jig from Luthiers Supply and have been thinking about a modification that would make that work for a compound radius. I'm thinking that an arc on the horizontal plane of the jig, maybe just on the nut side, would allow the router to travel in the cone configuration, instead of a cylinder path. hmmmmmm?
