I don't have much as far as swap meet stuff goes. Unless someone needs the Holy Grail A-Body Spindle and upper control arms for a Mopar disk brake conversion. laughing6-hehe I need to get rid of those anchors before I have to move again. But that is for another forum.

I'm looking forward to seeing Chris' centerline finder and shooting board. And the Everything Imaginable slope shoulder guitar we have seen so much of the last few months.

I also want to see one of Dave Anderson's 00s and wouldn't mind getting a look at his current Cherry dread.

I know Jim probably showed his vacuum clamping last time, but I'd like to see that too.

One thing I would like to do at one of these meetings (and yes I do plan on being more of a regular than I have been) is to see and feel as much wood as possible. I like the idea of having someone go through a stack of tops and giving their impression of each with a possible suggestion as to what they would do with it. One thing I find missing from learning from books and the internet is the hands on interpretation you get when you touch something. It is like describing the sound. Stiff to one person could be floppy to another. So anything I can do to get grounded would be a big help.

I'll be bringing the wood for my first guitar so I look forward to getting some opinions on that.

I'd also like to discuss the possibility of a group build for those that are interested. I really can’t wait for Saturday.

John

Hi fellow Florida builders! I'm Very dissapointed I had to miss the FGMA meeting
Saturday. I was looking forward to it very much.
Jim gave me the lowdown on it and it sounded like it was another great meeting.
He also sent me the pics he took and asked me

Well, I had a great time again and it was good to see some members I haven't seen at the last couple of meetings and Pete a new member.
I think we are looking to have the next meeting around August 22 give or take a week. And we are looking for a host.
By the way Jim, Thanks again for a great job on hosting this one again and the grouper gumbo was great.
So anyone who can host let us know soon. Jim Wormack has offered to do the oone after that.
Keith's Inlay duplicator was another cool machine. I'm going to build one for sure.

If any of you want to see what I'm doing with my new build you can check it out here:

Thanks for posting that Chris. I have to say that was one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time.

Thanks for showing it to us Keith. I can't wait to see what you come up with next time.

Dave, I have to say that if you had been there to see this, your decision to expand your headstock A to your last name would have been made.

Next Meeting 2 Weeks Away. Who's there for this one? Let's give our host a list.
I'm there for 1.
Anyone going who might be able to Xfer some stuff from my old laptop to my newer one. I'd like to clean the old one up and use it for my tone generator in the shop. I might try and load a tone generator onto it and see if I can then put it through my old Sony boom box and use it to tune my tops. If i can get it to work maybe we can try it out as a demo at the meeting.

Anyone have an old car radio /tape that they aren't usingstored away in the garage? I want to see if I can use it for a tone generator amp.

Keith,

It sounds like there will be a good turnout for this one. Thanks for hosting. I wish I could make it but we are getting ready for a move a few weeks after that. I keep getting reminded that I haven't packed anything in the garage yet.

Has anyone volunteered to demo anything yet?

John

John,
Not yet but I'm guessing Chris will have something. Maybe glitter patterns?
I'll have a few things setup around my shop for folks to mess with so it should all work out fine.

So how did it go? I'm itching for the story. Of course I was in the attic yesterday so I might be itching from the insulation.

What were the highlights?

PM Jim Bonnell or me your email address and we will get you on the list and subscribe to this discussion. The next meeting is being hosted by Jim Womack in Oct. I believe probably around the 24th. You can hook up with Sniggly, Chris Y. as he is up there. Jim you out there?

Hey Dave,
You did miss new members: Gary Dilley, and John Risler.
Bozo had a good time telling his jokes and stories. He also brought two incredable jazz guitars one of which
will be consigned the George Gruin and it will be pricey.
Most impressive was the pickup band in my music room great bluegrass and country.
Billy Garrison on slide dobro, Bud Long vocal and guitar, Kermit Barnthouse banjo, and Gary Dilley on guitar and singing harmony. Now that was worth the price of admission and shows that good musicians don't need to practice.
We have a great membership.
Thanks for posting the pics

Thanks again Keith. I think that was one of our best. Bozo was a real hoot. It was truly a pleasure to meet him! He seemed like he was having a good time too. Great folks, great music!
