For a low profile, full width heel... where would you put the neck side strap button?

I typically put them on the heel on the treble side when using a martin cone style heel. Don't like that option here. Too small. Thoughts?

I like t put a small reinforcement block glued to the neck block, and drill through the side above the heel kinda like a tele…

Beautiful looking guitar Chris!!

I've done the same thing Ed has and the customers liked it.

My neck block is probably larger than most so plenty of room to securely hold a neck strap button.

This one has structured sides but I may glue a little block on the inside just in case (should I go that route). Any other ideas?

I have put the strap button where Ed recommends on a few of my guitars. It's a good solution. Doc Watson thought so, too. I am more comfortable doing that when I can glue the internal block on during construction, rather than in a completed guitar. But you can do it after the fact without a problem.

For the heel in the photo, putting the strap button on the flat part, right at that middle maple line, would probably work fine. But beware of any internal hardware, obviously.

I put it on the side on my archtops using a reinforcement block inside.
