Hey Lars,

Man, that is a KILLER, little guitar! The overtones coupled with the clarity is note separation almost seem an impossible combination, but there it is! That clip almost screwed up my morning......I had the wood stove lit but was too busy re-listening to the clip that I almost let it burn out and I almost boiled the bottom out of the pot for the kids breakfast!

Thanks for sharing that, what an awesome way top start the day!

Shane

Youre all being too kind.. thanks.

Yes, I did spray the burst myself, Its my first one, and I think my last one too... what a scary experience! First I tried doing it spraying different shades of shellac, but that didnt work too well. Came out way too lemon yellow. So this is just different colortone stains mixed in nitro solvent, an then some coats of nitro. As i said scarty to burn through, and the pic shows the thickness of the finish that came off when cutting for the bridge(some wood fibers there, too..)

Dave, Joe, Laurent, thanks old friends!
Laurent, youre still my hero on varnish. Id love to learn the technique som day, just beautiful and natural looking... Actually, I like the winter, so I hope its gonna be a long one this time around! Did you recognize the inlays in the fingerboard?

Would that be the floral Pantheonic theme?

Lars!

Beautiful as usual bud! Totally Swede! Nice bracing too! :o

Sorry I haven't been in touch - soooooo busy. Send me an email, I'd like to chat with you about your thoughts on a Baritone - A client was playing one of my dreads at a local music store and wants to commission one, and I am, of course, completely clueless about them!

Hope you're well - and again, GREAT guitar!

-Mark

Lars... very impressive. I love the sound. For some reason that site takes forever to load and i haven't run the video until now. Beautiful!

Also, I have to say that the sunburst is the first that i have seen that i actually liked. Nice job!

How much thinner were you able to make the top with that bracing system? Or, was it a matter of getting more brave after taking the class? Final thickness?

Rob

Awesome work Lars!! Beautiful guitar!!! Sounds impressive too!

I just DL'd the song "Vittskövlevisan" - Esbjörn Hazelius from a German site, Amazon didn't have it? Huhm!

Yeah! I've always had problems understanding the Southern Swedish accent too! laughing6-hehe (I don't speak Swedish :D )

Very nice work Lars! That makes 2 really nice guitars that I've seen you make, this is becoming a habit! :D [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Sorry boys it took too long before I saw that this one was alive again... Thanks for the warming words, it really helps since its been between 10 and 15 C below zero the last few days.(today I had hoar frost on the INSIDE door knob in the shop.. [:Y:] )

Mark, great to hear from you again, will definitly write to you soon! The bari is still not done, too much else to do, and to much experimenting with fp on it..

Rob, since I took the class I have started deflection testing rather than thickness measuring, makes total sence as long as you know whats a good figure for the bracing used.. and thats what Im trying to find out now. This top was medium stiff and sanded to about 80-90 thou, before tuning.

best from a freeing cold sweeden

Yes! Traded with dana for some brw bridgeblanks... If you want to, I think he told me they had too little extra size for the cnc, so he might have them laying around the shop with no use for them.

I am SO glad I found this post.
Beautiful little guitar. I love the back on this one...just like the last several you've posted.
And that clip was spectacular.
Well done!

Steve

Wow Lars, I hate to post twice on this thread but I sure like the way that guitar sounds in the video! I'm starting my first build but one day I may have to get a little more info from you on your bracing.

Thanks again for posting the link and the beautiful pics.

80 -90 thou. Boy, do i like that number! If you hadn't seen my bracing thread, i have a top in that range (by daydreaming whilst thinning) and when i saw your post i thought i'd like to try that bracing on it.

I assume that when deflecting the top you have a set weight and amount of deflection you shot for? If you don't mind sharing, i'll be so bold as to ask what kind of numbers this top had?

I assume you only need to defection test where the bridge is?

Did you choose the dimensions of the lattice for any reason or was that just what happened?

Thnx again.
Rob

If we don't hear from you for a few days, i'll assume you're stuck to your doorknob...
