I'm interested in making a 5 piece neck.
I'm not having any luck locating a source for some 1/8" thick EIR.
Does anyone know of a supplier that handles thicker veneers?

I am ignorant about laminated necks, are these center stripes supposed to be showing "face" grain, or side grain?! If side grain, offcuts from a back set sound perfect?

Build log

Get a side set from one of the suppliers. Then you will have a spare.

Just buy lowest grade cheapest rims/side set you can. Sand and glue. Can use on each side of anothere strip, use just one with other wood on either side,or just itself as a center strip.

Bob at RC Tonewoods or 2nd grade sides from Allied. You may have to email Bob for the request, it might not be on his website.

Thanks for the ideas. I hadn't thought of finding some orphaned sides.

Mike I have EIR sides that have "issues" like some white blotches and things like that. I sell them for $5 each and are perfect for things like neck lamination contrast wood.
